Translucent Diffuser - for mounting on top of the shade or in the case of hanging lamp shades both the top and bottom of Drum style lamp shades. Made of pure white acrylic material with a slip 1/4-27 and 1/8IP center hole. Please remove clear, protective adhesive before installation. Uses:

  • Removes light bulb glare
  • Diffuses light
  • Directs light downward for accent or for improved reading light

Mid-Century Shallow Drum style shades were often accessorized with white translucent acrylic diffusers top mounted for table and floor shades and both top and bottom mounted for hanging fixtures. Not only do these diffusers improve quality of the light, especially when using energy efficient compact fluorescent or halogen light bulbs, they also add a finished look to many table lamps. When mounted underneath, a superior look and performance is achieved for Shallow Drum hanging fixtures. To avoid overheating your lamp leave a little room on the edge to let heat escape.

"We are using this to diffuse the light from a lamp that is taller than the seats next to it. The size was right as described in the descriptions and once put in the right position in on the lamp, it works perfectly. we increase the bulb size from 60w to 75w equivalent and we are getting the same down lighting without the direct bulb in the eye experience. the Diffuser is stiff and does not need additional support even with the 18. 5" size."

"The quality is excellent. Diffusers arrived on time and packaged well. Be mindful of the thickness and bright white color of the diffuser though. My application was with natural linen drum shades and looked weird. Measure well. I thought if mine failed to work for one project they’d work in another, but they don’t. I’m not sure if they accept returns, because I emailed customer service about returning my purchase, and have not heard back from them. It’s been a week. The quality is good, so if you know exactly what you need I would recommend this company."
