Worked for My Purpose
"I bought this hoping I could Jerryrig it to work on a very old bridge floor lamp. First, I had to hold the odd shade up on the bridge. By taking the clamp screw out and bending the clamp to open a bit wider, I was able to make it fit on the non-threaded socket. Then I squeezed it back shut a bit tighter! Dropped the shade down and it rests on the outer ring. Not exactly perfect, but good enough!"

"My antique gas-to-electric chandelier has slipping glass shades. After talking with a consultant and sending photos of the problem, I purchased shade holders. However, they are too small and don't solve the problem. Guess I'll keep looking."
